4 elements per level. (interior, exterior, vehicles, containers). Teams will run similar to a trial. One group will run elements while the other group runs elements, then switch. Waiting is often the most difficult part of trialing. This will give teams practice waiting while having fun running themed elements. NACSW rules (with a twist ! ) NW1 AM (Birch-you can ask for assistance from the judges) - NW2 PM (Birch, Anise,Clove) $45 NW1 and $50 NW2. Run orders are sent in advance, we will not have a walk thru. NW1 check in 8:20 a brief brief 8:45 , first on line at 9. NW2 check in 12:20, brief brief at 12:45 first dog on line at 1 pm. (times may change - you will be notified) This is a “Mock” or fun match. You “go” when you finish all 4 elements. Proceeds to benefit St Andrews Episcopal Church.

Please Note: It is not appropriate to contact or visit the trial location prior to the trial date, nor should training take place on trial grounds once an event is approved/announced. Our locations are real life search environments where people work, go to school, etc. Pre-trial contact or visits risk the host losing the opportunity to use the location again in the future. More information below the “registration form”.

Can any dog enter? Dogs must be proficient in the odor(s) of the element. Newby teams welcome for NW1 Drink Me. The judges are there to help you. Teams do not need to have passed an ORT or Pre Trial. (if you are not sure which level to enter - Please ask your trainer for guidance. We want to see happy successful searching) Teams do not need to belong to NACSW or other Orgs. Times will not be recorded.
Conditions- NW1- There will be one Birch hide per search area.
NW2- There will be 1-3 hides, Birch Anise Clove, per search area.
There will be 4 search areas for each level. Interior, Container, Exterior and Vehicle. You may search blind or request blind assist.
Dogs must be minimum 6 months of age.

RULES: The rules of NACSW will be our guide. Hide placement for the level is the same as NACSW. Note: Because this is a mock trial, the containers/vehicles and search areas will differ from the description in NACSW rules. It is the responsibility of each competitor to read and understand the current NACSW rule book prior to participating in this event.
The Facility- is partially on a hill. You will be walking down a grass or paved slope to return to your vehicle. Bathrooms can be accessed by stairs or walk up the paved hill to a different bathroom. Stairs - 9 stairs up are the exit of an element. With advanced notice we can guide someone to a level exit. 5 gentle large stairs are the entrance and exit of an element - with notice -we can guide you to a ramp instead of stairs. Dogs and handlers need to be able to safely negotiate a variety of surfaces, including, but not limited to , tile, carpet, linoleum, gravel, asphalt, uneven surfaces and slippery flooring. Handlers should be prepared to deal with a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain and snow. Handlers should be prepared for the physical demands and must be able to navigate the terrain with their dog accordingly.
Registration Method- All registration will be on line via this website/Event page. Paper and phone entries will not be accepted. Completing the online registration form is not a guarantee of entry. You will receive a response email confirming that we received your trial entry after registration -this email does not confirm your space in the trial. There will be a separate confirmation from firstname.lastname@example.org . to let you know if your entry has been given a space in the trial.
Note- We will not be taking payment until you are given a space in the trial. You will receive information on where to send payment (checks only) . You will then have 7 days to complete your payment to confirm your space in the trial. If payment is not received you have forfeited your entry.
Parking Parking will be tight. A lot attendant will guide you where and how to park. Competitors should expect to keep their dogs confined in the vehicle (and not able to jump or put head out window) when not competing. The logistics of the trial do not allow for dogs to hang out on leash in between searches. Competitors should plan to provide their own shade using shade cloths or canopies. Each team will be assigned a number. You are expected to pay attention to the number boards and be prepared for your turn. No overnight parking is available.
Running vehicles or generators in the parking lot is not allowed. If you are in a RV and need to run generator, please give advance notice.
Smoking: Smoking is not allowed , including the use of e-cigarettes.
RV parking- we need advanced notice to reserve you a space. A check box will be on registration. Yes there is room to turn around. Read reactive parking, you will be in same area. No overnight RV, van or camper parking is available. This policy may be modified at the last minute by trial host.
Reactive dog parking is limited. If you need reactive parking we need to know in advance and will reserve a space for you. A check box is on the registration form. You will be in a different area that will require you to pay attention/and be at your vehicle or close potty proximity.. We cannot search for you. Red (not maroon or purple) Red bandanas are recognized and suggested for reactive dogs. Due to the location of parking and the trial site, your dog will be walking and in sight of other dogs. There will not be separate warm up boxes.
All dogs *must be on a 6’ leash at all times when not being tested. NO Flexi/retractable leashes while not participating in a competition search.
*Reactive and/or spatially challenged dogs should wear a red bandana (to be provided by the dog’s handler) to help signal others that the dog needs extra space from other dogs.
*Dogs will be toileted in designated areas and handlers must pick-up and dispose of waste.
*Dogs and handlers must stay in designated areas to avoid contaminating testing space, interrupting a test, or from viewing any part of the testing.
*Unentered dogs must remain in the competitor’s vehicle during the trial day. There will be ample potty areas, but unentered dogs should not be allowed to “play” , exercise, or train on the trial grounds..
*Competitors should expect to keep their dogs confined in a crate or vehicle when not competing. The logistics do not allow for dogs to hang out on leash in between searches. Competitors should plan to provide their own shade using canopies or shade cloths. There is no shade on site.
*E or Electronic collars , bark or citronella collars are Not allowed on trial grounds. Rule for this event.
*When performing an on leash search, leashes may only be attached to the following equipment: Flat collars, martingale collars, limited slip, and harnesses. Leashes may be of any length and Flexi leashes are allowed. No electronic or remote training devices may be used at any time. Dogs may not wear cameras during searches.
Accessories for dogs are allowed if they are deemed to be for the wellbeing, comfort, or safety of the dog – for example boots, jackets, sweaters, hair pins. If the Certifying Official or Judge deems that the equipment interferes with the search, is a safety concern, or exhibits inappropriate advertising, you may be asked to remove the accessory from the dog before the search begins. Accessories that emit an odor (for example DAP collars) are not permitted in the search area. Muzzles are not permitted to be worn on trial grounds. Calming caps and other accessories that block the dog’s vision are not permitted outside of the vehicle or crate. If you have a specific concern or question about a particular piece of equipment, email sccanine@gmail. com at least 14 days prior to the trial date.
Panties are required on bitches in season and they will run at the end of the run order. Please note that panties on dogs are not permitted in any other situation. Participants should contact the event host at least 72 hours prior to the event if they anticipate that their dog may be in season at the event. You will be parked in a different location.
Spectators - Spectators MUST check in at registration , sign a waiver and get a name badge. Spectators are only allowed to escort and observe the team they came with. Children under 18 must be directly supervised by a parent/guardian at all times. Spectators are reminded that the hide location will not be discussed nor should they speak with any competitors about wha they saw until after the trial is complete. To allow teams to concentrate on themselves , space/flow constraints and to preserve the facility , we are not allowing spectators in a gallery or spectators off the street (unless directly invited by the host). If you bring a family member they stay with the team (car or park lot) until the team is running. If you have a question please ask before trial day. No unentered dogs are allowed at the trial. (unless dog belongs to a competitor and is secure in car for the day) Competitors are not allowed to watch the trial at anytime.
Videotaping and photography - a Spectator may video or photograph only the team they are escorting. At the host's discretion, a photographer and/or video service may be present during the trial to offer photos and/or videos for sale to the competitors.
As a condition of your entry, you agree to allow Sea Change Canine LLC , or their agents, to photograph you and your dog, during the entirety of the event. These images are the property of Sea Change Canine llc/Sarah Becker. All competitors, through entry at this event, waive any and all rights relative to video broadcast or photography of such event.At the host's discretion, a photographer and/or video service may be present during the trial to offer photos and/or videos for sale to the competitors.
As a condition of your entry, you agree to allow Sea Change Canine Llc or their agents, to video you and your dog, during the entirety of the Sea Change Canine llc event. These videos are the property of Sea Change Canine. All competitors, through entry at any Sea Change Canine llc event, waive any and all rights relative to video broadcast or photography of such event.
Liability: By registering for the trial, the competitor hereby assumes all risks of, and responsibility for, accidents and/or damage to her/himself or to her/his property or to others, resulting from the actions of her/his dog. The competitor expressly agree that Sarah Becker/ Sea Change Canine LLC , and its assignees or any other person, or persons, of said groups, shall not be held liable personally, or collectively, under any circumstances, for injury, and/or damage to her/himself, for loss or injury to property, whether due to uncontrolled dogs or negligence of any member of said groups, or any other cause, or causes. The competitor also agrees to assume all financial liability that may be incurred due to the actions of themselves or their dogs regardless of the cause.
